Her blood is toxic to vampires.
If there is one thing eighteen-year-old Aurora Sky wants, it's to get off the iceberg she calls home. Being kissed before she graduates wouldn't hurt either.
Then a near-fatal car wreck changes everything. Government agents step in and save Aurora's life in exchange for her services as a vampire hunter in Alaska. Basically she's a glorified chew toy. All thanks to her rare blood type, which sends a vampire into temporary paralysis right before she has to finish the job...by hand.
Now Aurora's only friends are groupies of the undead and the only boy she can think about may very well be a vampire.
(Mature YA/New Adult series. Contains mild language, violence, sexual situations . . . and blood sucking.)
This really took me by surprise! Talk about someone’s life going topsy turvy, Aurora is in for a nasty surprise after she gets into a really bad accident but still wakes up. Although she takes to her new life like a child throwing a tantrum, instead of being put off by her new attitude, I loved it! She doesn’t want this life that she’s thrown into and she’s not afraid to tell anyone! I really felt that this attitude was synonymous with exactly what a teenager that thought she knew what the next part of her life would entail to only be thwarted by very strange circumstances. And not many answers to boot! That would frustrated me highly!
Funnily, I really like both Fane and Dante, but for some reason Dante starts to rub me the wrong way. I don’t know what it is but I don’t totally trust that guy. Fane, however, could turn the world upside down and I would still love him! I don’t know what it is, but he is just that awesome of a character. Plus it doesn’t seem like he has any ulterior motives or anything he’s trying to hide.
The plot was pretty easy to read but I loved how it read. Not too hard to figure out and ended on a cliff hanger but this is only book one of four so I’m definitely looking forward to what happens next!
Fan of vampires? Want an easy and very different read? Pick this up!
