Love bites.
Probation sucks.

Thanks to Dante’s recklessness, Aurora is now partners with Valerie: the redheaded, backstabbing vixen.

Dante is in full flirt mode. Fane’s tactics are more ruthless. Something carnal has awakened in Aurora and neither boy is helping tame her cravings.

When a member of the unit’s team is found dead, Aurora and Valerie are sent after a vampire in Sitka, but Aurora suspects the killer’s much closer to home.

My Thoughts

This picks up right from where book one, Aurora Sky, dropped. There are some reminders throughout the book but for the most part I think Nikki did a fabulous job of keeping book two to book two! The reminders did not in anyway detract from the story.

As for this story it was a great second in this storyline, however, I thought it was more than a second. It held so much for the main characters, built upon them and the plot, and kept everything fresh. For a middle child that is saying something huge!

All the great characters are back, Aurora (obviously), Dante and Fane, and a few others. I’m STILL on the fence about who I like more! I kept shifting from one side to the other but Fane is kind of a jerk in this one and Dante, who lets himself out there all the time, isn’t trying to hide anything. And something happened at the end that had one of them probably on my bad list for sure! Like, for reals this time!

There was one part of the plot, about how Aurora became whatever the hell she is, that I was able to figure out. It’s not a huge spoiler for the story, but I did like that Nikki put in clues, even if I was able to figure it out because of them. Otherwise I may have been like… WTH THAT came out of left field! Yeah… it didn’t come from left field, but it was in the peripherary and I do not think that the clues were huge enough for everyone to see. I was just already skeptical of some stuff and it just fit those clues! Go me!

So… all in all, a great second! I’m anticipating picking up the third, or rather 2.5 and sinking my teeth in!

Have you read this? What do you think of Fane and Dante?
