Sparks fly when a society belle and a biker with a troubled past get down and dirty in the Big Easy. Maisey Yates turns up the heat in the sizzling finale of a series co-written with Megan Crane, Rachael Johns, and Jackie Ashenden.

Micah Carpenter hates New Orleans. Hell, after ten years he no longer has much affection for the Deacons of Bourbon Street motorcycle club, either. But when the brotherhood calls, Micah answers. Joining the hunt for their mentor’s killer, he crosses paths with a Southern belle who exudes class—and sex appeal. Micah knows better than to mess with ice princesses: No matter how hot things get, they never melt. And yet he can’t stop himself from offering her a taste of the wrong side of the tracks.

Sarah Delacroix understands that reputation is everything. The daughter of a prominent family rocked by scandal, she’s desperate to restore their good name. Micah’s exactly the kind of man she should be avoiding. Behind his sleek and sophisticated exterior beats the heart of a predator—and she knows it. But, like the tattoos beneath his tailored suit, his rough edges are irresistible. And all too soon Sarah finds him getting under her skin . . . and living out every one of her hottest fantasies.

My thoughts

Whew! This book is all kinds of hot, hot, hot! I loved the tension between Micah and Sarah when they first meet and that tension is throughout the book!

This is number four of the series and I was able to pick this up without a problem.

The one critique was the build up of the bike gang. Those portions were not my favorite at all. I wanted to know where Micah came from but all the testosterone in that room could kill a wildebeest! I mean… geez! During these portions I just wanted the book to move forward, however, closer to the end as I got to know the characters more, all the aggression made sense. I stopped speed reading through these parts and really wanted the feel for what was going to happen. They just seemed to slow the book down but later it does get better.

Mican and Sarah, unlike the bike gang, never slow the book down! They are seriously into each other. I love their tit for tat and the fact that they are extremely attracted to each other but polar opposites. It made for a great story.

One side note… there was one part where there is sex without a condom. Ugh. Hate. This. There is way too much out there, plus the fact of pregnancy, to do this. Hated every moment of that scene. Yes, it was hot but no it is not worth it. I nearly put the book down but by then I was too invested in the characters. Had this happened earlier, it would definitely be in the Did Not Finish pile.

Other than that, the book was fabulous. The gang even started coming around. They are still mostly jerks, but they are jerks that I like. I can definitely see reading more of this series!
