You've never been wanted. You've never been loved. You release your emotions by bleeding and having sex. But now, the hottest person alive develops a sudden interest in you. What do you do?
Mora has never had an easy life. Physically and mentally abused by her mother, she's never known what being wanted or loved felt like. Her only relief? Sex, bleeding and playing the cello. And now, her new boss, Darius, has shown an interest in her character. Will Darius become another danger in Mora's life, or is he the absolution she's been internally wishing for?

Ok, so finally secrets are uncovered! This is my favorite book of the series because I finally feel like I’m up to speed with what is going on in Mora’s life. In books one and two, there was so much that needed to be uncovered, so finally Mora knows everything and can make her decisions with an open mind.

The two characters have been ridiculous this entire series. They remain ridiculous in book three, but there is something that compels me to want to know what is going to happen. While most of this series I’ve been annoyed with Mora, it is mainly Darius who has taken the brunt of my cursing between chapters. But in this one Mora has really started to make some choices that I do not agree with. It’s a book, I get it, but there have to be reasons for characters to do the things they’re doing. Her reasoning went out the window pretty early on. Although she had good reasoning, to begin with, dragging it on felt pushed.

Darius, on the other hand is an idiot! There are so many things he does in this that just make me want to smack someone. He also has his own reasons, but goodness!!! They just don’t make enough sense for the plot to keep it going for an entire book.

That said, more is uncovered while I’m sitting here shaking my head. I did really enjoy this book but I wish things could have happened a bit differently. I think the characters really made the plot stand out. I wanted to know more about them, which is why I kept reading, but it could have been a smoother trip.

I do recommend these. I’m giving the series a solid three, mainly due to the lack of foreshadowing and the characters continuing their pretense when the jig is most definitely up! That said though, I think these are a fun, easy, summer read. I, sadly, do not live by a beach, but had I water close to me, I would have lounged out in the sun while reading this story.

One other observation was the ending. It was like the ending of Lord of the Rings. There were chapters for every single little thing that needed to be tied up. By the time I got to the second, I didn’t care and wound up skimming a bit. Some of it was needed, but not all.
