Featuring family-friendly recipes and stunning photography, an all-new cookbook from New York Times bestselling author, beloved actor, and respected foodie Stanley Tucci.Stanley Tucci’s association with wonderful foods began for fans with the movie Big Night and resonated in his role as Julia Child’s husband in Julie & Julia. But well before these films, he was enjoying innovative homemade Italian meals throughout his childhood, when family and food were nearly inseparable and cooking was always a familial venture. Now, in a completely new, family-focused cookbook, Tucci captivates food lovers’ imaginations with recipes from his traditional Italian roots as well as those of his British wife, Felicity Blunt, tied together with a modern American ribbon. The time-tested recipes include pasta alla bottarga, mushroom-stuffed trout, pork chops with onions and mustard sauce, barbeque chicken wings, and much, much more! Nothing will make you happier to spend time with family than the aroma of a hearty Italian dish sizzling on the stovetop. Featuring 100 luscious new full-color photographs, The Tucci Table captures the true joys of family cooking. Buon apetito!
I’m a huge fan of Stanley Tucci’s so it came as no surprise that the cookbook bearing his name was just as fabulous as the man himself.
This fantastic cook book is all about being with family and friends and cooking some fanfreakingtastic food too! While reading these recipes I just wanted to jump up and go cook! I normally like to get a sense of the meals prior to starting but my mouth was watering and the yumminess emanating from these pages.
There are many, many different recipes too. Starting with different soups and salads like tomato soup and fried calamari and moving to fish and meats of all sorts. There are so many recipes and even ingredients that I have not tried before, like Pissaladiere and the sunchoke but Stanley Tucci makes them feel accessible and easy to do. Not only easy but fun!
There are also tips from Stanley Tucci throughout the book. Little tidbits that you can add into your cooking or not. The tips went well with the thoughts and the recipes and really added an essence of his ideas into the already wonderful cookbook.
He also throws twists into recipes that we’ve all eaten before like tuna salad, potato salad, and shepherd’s pie.
Needless to say, I cannot wait to start cooking. I already plan to do Beef Wellington for Christmas this year but I’m planning many, many meals from this before then!
In short: Get this for every cook on your holiday list. They will love it and you!
