Life is a gift, and good health and a good heart should be our most prized possessions.  Yet many people fail to treasure their health and their hearts until those blessings are gone. In Your Vibrant Heart, acclaimed cardiologist Dr. Cynthia Thaik explores the dynamic growth and healing processes of our ever-evolving hearts. Forging the missing links between Eastern and Western medicine, Dr. Cynthia covers the wisdom of conventional practices and beyond, unearthing a mind-body connection that takes us to the edge of what we thought we knew and placing the power of healing back in the hands of patients.

my thoughts doneThis book is chock FULL of information. I was quite surprised to see that not only is that information based from a medical perspective but also an holistic one. I loved the fact that I was able to read both approaches in one book.

Firstly, from a medical perspective this talks a LOT about health, anxiety, diet, and exercise. Cynthia Thaik is able to take us down multiple roads to explain exactly how each thing affects our heart and what we can do to make things better. This definitely isn’t a diet book, however, there is only a bit of information on diets and exercise but that information was fantastic.

Secondly, the holistic perspective was my favorite part. Being someone that wants to get into Yoga and knows very little about Chakras, I was quite excited to see some information on this in here. I definitely wasn’t expecting it! But after reading it makes total sense. How many of us go through life at top speed and never take a minute for ourselves? Sure there’s a time limit in each day but this book stresses that we NEED to make ourselves and especially relaxation techniques a priority.

Honestly, reading this once isn’t going to cut it. I’m going to have to go through this book at a slower pace while delving into some of the practices, like meditation and yoga. With a history of heart disease and diabetes along with a score of other crap in my family, this kind of knowledge will do nothing to harm my body but may do everything to add years to my life!

Recommended to EVERYONE! It’s a must read for anyone with anxiety, diabetes or heart disease in their family, or stressful lives!
