Cover Characteristics – Santa

March 19, 2017 Based on the Book, Guilty Pleasures 7

This is a new meme hosted by Sugar & Snark. It came about when Sugar was wondering which cover to use for her #70 Cover of the Week post. Sugar kept on thinking of more than one, and they all seemed to have a theme/characteristic. So she decided to switch things up a bit!

Each week we will post a characteristic and choose 5 of our favorite covers with that characteristic. If you want to join in and share your 5 favorite covers with the weeks particular characteristic, then just make a post, grab the meme picture (or make your own) and leave your URL in Linky (so we can visit).

March 19th – Santa!

There’s so much magic and joy in this one word. That also equates to there being many, many different types of book covers! I had a lot of fun with this one but took a few liberties. I went with two traditional but decided to play it up a bit.

5. The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus

4. Real Santa

3. Naughty or Nice

2. Santa Claus is for Real

And the winner is:

The Hogfather

You’ll have to forgive me for this one. There are some great covers with Santas on them but this one is a book that has so much in it! Death actually plays Santa, or in the Discworld, The Hogfather. I read and watch the movie every year. It’s just that good!

I almost went with the real Santa one. Those abs!! The magical hat was done really well also.

The synopsis for Hogfather is that Santa, otherwise known as Hogfather in the Discworld universe, has gone missing so Death has to take over the job. It’s so hilarious! Death is creepy but he’s one of my favorite characters!
