Readathon Updates: October 1st to 31st!

September 13, 2017 Blog, Fall, Horror, Read a thon 1

You must read at least ONE scary book (which can be a thriller, mystery, Gothic novel, or similar for those who are faint of heart).

Our social media hashtag is #FrightFall and we have our outstanding Facebook group which has become quite the reading community (there is also an access tab in the menu).

My Goals!

YES! A full month of horror? I love it! I plan to watch, read, and listen to as many stories I can get my hands onto. This should be fabulous.

Since this is a month, my reading list is quite long. I have a few I have to read, a few I want to read, and some I want to re-read! In between all the reading, I’m going to watch some horror movies that I haven’t been able to see yet. Alien Covenant, Get Out, Annabelle, etc. Should be an exciting month. If I’m not having nightmares by the end of it, I didn’t read enough!

My List:

  • The Doll’s House (Helen Grace #3) – Review done!
  • Haunting the Deep 1 & 2 – Oct 3
  • Don’t Wake Up – 05 Oct 2017
  • Perilous Poetry – 10 Oct 2017
  • Halloween Carnival Vol 2 – 10 Oct 2017
  • Twelve Slays of Christmas – 10 Oct 2017
  • A Cajun Christmas Killing – 10 Oct 2017
  • Seven Days of Us – 17 Oct 2017
  • Murder Over Mochas – 24 Oct 2017
  • Silent Corner (Jane Hawk #1)
    • The Whispering Room (Jane Hawk #2) – 21 Nov 2017
  • One of Us is Lying
  • Apocalypse Z
  • Rot & Ruin
  • Shutter
  • Gork, the Teenage Dragon
  • 19 Souls
  • Death Eater
  • Swan Song by Robert R. McCammon
  • The Stand by Stephen King

Updates:

So much to do to prepare for this one! I have 17 freaking Christmas books to read that publish in or near October. Obviously I’m hoping not to read them during this readathon, so I’m prepping like crazy between now and then!

For the readathon, I decided to update once a week. I hardly ever update each day, so this will make it a bit easier for me to read, read, read! There are a lot of books I’m looking forward to, like the Helen Grace series, so although I have quite a few books on my list, I am hoping to get through most of them. At the very least the once that are publishing this year. If that means I have to skip over The Dark Tower for a bit longer, I just might. He’s waited this long, I’m sure he won’t mind a bit longer!
