Imaginary Reality

I’m jealous of her not even knowing if she’s real

But somehow she has taken the heart I hoped to steal

He talks insistently of her beauty and wit

White I sit on the other side trying to get a grip

My emotions are obvious, thank goodness he is unaware

Or at least he pretends not to notice

as I look in a different direction and stare

I can hear him smile when he speaks her name

It brings him happiness and drowns me in pain.
