Welcome to the new Book Blogger Hop!
16th – 22nd – How do you organize your blog in terms of what is in your side bar? Do you have categories and defined sections in your side bar? (submitted by Elizabeth @ Silver’s Reviews)
Organization or at least the love for all things pretty and in neat, little rows, is a beautiful thing to me. That said, when I started my blog, my first was way back when everything was done in HTML by hand. Somehow I still remember many of the html tags, which makes some edits easy! Today, however, most of the information is done in code that I do not even get. So my first problem was finding a theme that fit what I needed. I still think it’s a little clunky for what I prefer but I can edit this theme to how I feel and most of the time that mood is subject to change weekly, if not daily.
So, the way I like to organize my blog is by having some pertinent information about me on one side. I do not like cluttered blogs so I try to keep this as neat and as simple as possible. With all of the ways to keep in touch with social media, this is not an easy task! I realized while looking at my blog on my phone that all of this is easily accessible but it all comes up at the top of the page. So to get to a post I have to scroll through ways of contacting myself! Maybe this is smart for others visiting, but to me it was annoying. I can only imagine how a visitor would feel and I imagine some may not come back because of it, so I think I am going to start from scratch again and see what I can come up with.
My biggest need is to have a clean site. I am very eclectic so all of the information that I love to share on my blog has to be neat and orderly. After that, decent graphics are a must and fortunately I do my own graphics so I don’t have to pay for anyone to make something for me. Then is the tweaking but I think the tweaking may be the hardest part. Figuring out which social media should be easily accessible, especially since I am on nearly everything, is daunting!
I really enjoy looking at other blogs and mirroring what I really fall in love with. Since there are so many great blogs out there I find I’m a little eclectic mix of everything I’ve fallen in love with over the years!
