5th – 11th – Do you re-arrange and move books around on the shelves or move books off of your bookshelves to another area after a certain amount of time or do you just leave them the way they are? (submitted by Elizabeth @ Silver’s Reviews)

Re-arranging anything gives me some massive zen. Recently I painted our computer room and while I was painting I realized how crowded and crowded the space felt. My hubby is messy but he tends to keep the mess on his desk (thankfully) but the first thing you could see was his desk. I begged him to help me and we were able to make the entire room feel much more spacious and his desk is now in a corner so it is not first and center when you enter the room.

I do the same with my bookshelves. I re-organize as I see fit. If I get a new book in that throws the entire feel of the organization off, then I’ll completely re-arrange everything. Every time I visit my mother-in-law she allows me to attack her bookshelves. It seems weird to everyone in our family but me. Whatever it takes to make us readers happy, right?

I also do not have many books. We just bought a house that has a ton of room, so much that I’ll need to buy bookcases and books, just to fill it. We moved here with four bookcases, that are mostly full, but not quite. I had to keep my book buying habits at a minimum since I knew I had no where to put them. Since we’ve moved in we’ve (I should say I) bought four hardbacks! Needless to say I’m pretty much squealing over the amount of space. It’s a little intimidating now but having the ability to buy books and have a place for them is a wonderful feeling. I am sure I’ll be re-arranging in the near future!

Do you re-arrange your books?
