July 25, 2014 Blog, Giveaway 42

new hop buttonCome Meet & Greet your favorite bloggers and find a few new ones to love too! Enter the Grand Prize Giveaway then hop around and visit all of the Social Bloggers and learn some fun facts about them!

There will be individual giveaways at some of the blog so don’t forget to stop by and say hi!

FIRST! Some fun quirky facts about me:

  • I am extremely eclectic! I will try almost anything once which includes crazy reads and genres. You never know what gems you’ll find!
  • I LOVE, love, love horror! I just cannot get enough and will watch or read anything no matter how B rated it is! Growing up with 80’s horror led me to enjoy things like Evil Dead and led me to start my new Horror Mondays!
  • I have a thing for learning. Every once and a while I’ll update my progress in school on my Sunday Posts. So far I have a 3.97 and I’m so OCD that just getting an A kills me. I want perfection damn it!! Currently taking Environmental Science and have a 90% and it’s driving me crazy. Learning a lot but damn… science is kicking my ass!
  • I make words up and use words where they don’t belong all the time. I recently started using fangirl as a verb but I love it and will not stop!
  • So… I thought I would also share my fav sandwhich since Herding Cats shared hers here, mine is cheddar cheese, pickle, mustard, pb & mayonnaise. So weird sounding I know, but so freaking yummy! I have my wonderful (sadly late) grandfather to thank for this creation!
  • I will read everything and ANY thing about the Tudors. I LOVE Henry Tudor. Thankfully I didn’t live back then and get my head chopped off. That would have been brutal!

And what this “serenity” blog is all about:

  • Finding serenity!! In all its various and wonderful forms! No matter what they might be… serenity can be hidden you know!?
  • Like me, it’s eclectic. You’ll find Art (although I really need to work on that portion), poetry, gaming (mmorpg’s), and cooking, PLUS lots of stuff about reading and movies.
  • Horror, lots of horror and romance cause I do really like both.
  • It was hard to come up with a name that fit what I enjoy blogging about. I originally started with two blogs, My Seryniti (named after my gaming character) and Fluff Factor (everything about the fluff in gaming) but they just weren’t doing it for me… hence Creating Serenity! It took a while but I finally feel great about it!

So! We’ve got a nice Grand Prize going! Amazon gift card and a handful of books!
And for stopping by herding cats…those that comment are entered to win their pick of a 99cent kindle ebook. I just wanna know…what are some fun quirky facts about YOU?

Thank you!! Now to keep it there! I’m hoping this science class won’t bring it down!

Yes I know! It really does depend on what I’m in the mood for, but they are both fabulous! Thank you for stopping by!

I feel you on school, I keep thinking about going back but I would prob drive myself crazy but I love taking non credit courses on subjects that peak my interest. Cool to keep the brain active.

I do like the Serenity in Creating Serenity, I think reading brings a lot of Serenity, I tell my co workers all the time jokingly every book I read is saving their lives.

HA! That’s awesome! My sister doesn’t have a lot of time to read and has a very stressful job… I’m going to have to relay that little quote to her 😀 And my husband has probably been saved a few times too. Although, he prefers to talk A LOT while I am reading! He knows the “can’t you see that I’m reading” look very well. 😉

  2. Emsy Van Wyck

Nice to get to know you! I’ll pass on the horror, but do love a fun paranormal myself. As to my fav sandwich? Grilled cheese with tomato. 🙂

  3. erinf1

LOL… you have an awesome GPA! But good look on getting your prefect score! Thanks for sharing and for such a fun event!

    • Christina

Thank you! I cannot help but push myself but I am also loving it 😀 So nice to meet you!

80’s horror was like the best. I so remember Evil Dead, didn’t sleep a wink after I watch that..lols. Love the blog name & I love your dog. he looks like Petey from the little racals 😀

I know! That lack of sleeping was awesome though! Did you see the new movie? Totally should have named him that! I have this thing with names and he was totally a Bruno though. And his name really fits. Although Petey would have been a fabulous second choice!! Thank you for stopping by!

        • Christina

Thank you! He seems to like it and somehow it fits him perfectly! The new one is good, although if you compare it to the old one you might be disappointed in certain parts. Just think B movie! If you enjoyed the first you’ll probably enjoy the second. They started it off differently though and that freaked me out for a little while but I just ate popcorn and kept watching. 😀

  5. Cheryl Rogers

I don’t Blog ( although I do have one and considered it back in the day), but I could resonate with your liking playing games ( I play Runescape). I love romance , not so much horror, but nice to meet you!

    • Christina

Nice to meet you too! Yes, gaming is my ultimate guilty pleasure! I am going to have to start blogging about it again soon (ish). It’s just too much fun. Haven’t played Runescape though! Might have to try that too 😀

    • Christina

Aren’t pits just SO damn loveable?! I never had any opinions against them but seriously now that we’ve owned one we’re going to definitely get more in the future. He is an 80 pound lap dog!

    • Christina

I know! It’s only taken two years! But I know of bloggers that are trying to find their niche after longer so I’m pretty happy. Although I like how open you are with yours! I love it! And I can get a feel for your personality right away. Not sure if I’ve hit that point yet, but I’m working on it. And yes, try it without the mayo, you will be surprised at how freaking yummy all of that is!

      • anna (herding cats & burning soup)

Aw thanks! I’ve had a great time with it and am always happy to hear it comes across that way.

I’ll pick up some ingredients the next grocery run.I do like all the others individually so why not?! lol

        • Christina

That’s what I thought when I tried it! Of course I was like 5 and probably would eat anything at that point anyway!

  6. Maggie Steele

I <3 scifi in all its forms, books, tv, movies, internet, Joss Whedon's brain…all of it!

  7. Michelle Willms

I, too, am a horror freak. Not so much with the movies and TV side of things, since I’m not big on the “created” visuals (I like to create my own visuals in my mind), but I love, love, love reading horror. I’ve been reading since I was 12 (real horror, I mean) and read the Amytiville Horror. I had to stay up all night and finish it because I was too terrified to sleep. On top of that, I lived in a haunted house at the time. Talk about freaky!

Oh my god! That’s amazing! I actually have never read that one. I think I may have to pick it up. When The Conjuring came out I was really excited to learn more about the couple that had to deal with the house and I hear they are making a movie on The Amityville Horror also! I’m definitely going to have to read that.

  8. Denise Z

It is such fun meeting new folks and following the sites. I am looking forward to some good book sharing. Thank you for sharing a bit of you with us today 🙂

  9. Janie McGaugh

Congrats on your great GPA! Keep up the good work.

  10. Trix

I always wanted to hang out with Muppets as a kid, and still wish they were real…

    • Christina

Awww! Wouldn’t that be amazing! I remember watching Fraggle Rock growing up. Just loved that show!

    • Christina

He is a hotty!! I’m so excited to see him in different movies now too still with that great physique! I’m going to have to re-watch now that I’ve finally read this!

  11. Brandi

Thanks for sharing your facts! =) And good luck with your science class. When I was in school in my astronomy class when we went into the observatory,…. i’d use that as nap time lol. I passed & that’s all that mattered to me lol.

A fact about me? I hate horror movies thanks to my older sister that tortured me with them when I was little. I know they are fake, but I still hate Freddie, Jason & Michael!! Oh & Chucky!!! If a little kid runs by me & they are about the size of a chucky doll & I just happen to catch their head running by a couch or something,.. I have to jump up quick & look to see what it was cuz I get a little freaked out lol.

    • Christina

HA! I did the same to my sister but fortunately she loves horror movies! She did have issues with Chucky though.

Creating Serenity…can’t say anything bad about that…what a great concept. But that sandwich…seriously…I’m not sure if that makes you cool, eclectic and interesting or just plain weird or icky..ha!! I’ll stick with cool…thx for sharing..nice to meet you, June

i loved 80’s horror too but i also liked it even before that. my favorite horror movie of all time is the 1979 version of Dracula starring Frank Langella. (the best! and he was so handsome). it was my 1st and still my favorite. 🙂

It is crazy 80’s horror that is so different from horror today. Horror today is way in your face gore with some psychological aspects (sometimes). I actually think that some of the horror today is overkill. Ha… pun intended!
