Yay for read a thons!

I’m working to NOT get any more books while I clean up my TBR, but there are a few I just could not live without. Chimera publishes the end of November and while the second in the series was not as good as the first, the beginning of this one is fantastic.

The first in the Detective Helen Grace Thriller series was amazing. I could not believe, even as a horror lover, the sadisticness of the entire plot. That thriller was magnificent. Sadly I missed the second on Netgalley but was approved for the third. That approval is like a shot of adrenaline! Super excited but also a tad scared of this one. It’s going to be serious if the second and third are as good as the first. I’ll sleep with the lights on.

AND I got the Arc for Chimera! Super excited about this one. Mira Grant is like a God when it comes to writing about zombies. I do recommend this series but with a grain of salt. It is not like her Newsflesh trilogy. I actually gave book 2, Symbiont, a 3 star rating due to some issues with it. It’s still good and I’m excited about book three but it was tough to get through so I’m keeping my fingers crossed for this one. I think a lot of it hinges on how much I like the narration. I think the narrator did a good job but she sounds so whiny. Is it the character or the narrator then?

It’s difficult when there are just so many books out there! But I wind up putting a lot of pressure on myself, I think most of us do, when I have so many to read. It takes the fun out of reviewing! I’m at 83% on Netgalley and I’m keeping myself above 80% at the very least, for now on!

      Good luck!

I have been trying really hard to not overbook myself so I can get my TBR under control. Good luck with your Holiday book reading goals, those read-a-thons should help.

They do and then I get right back into requesting too many books! Not this time though. I’m keeping myself to that beautiful 80% on Netgalley!
