Some freaking yummy stuff!!

I stuck mostly with this wonderful recipe that I found over at Skinny Taste. Shrimp with angel hair. A few changes but nothing huge… came out wonderful!!!shrimp pasta

First of all you will need:

  • Shrimp (1lb)
  • Noodles (I just used veggie noodles, so fun looking and yummy!)
  • Green onions
  • Tomatoes
  • Garlic (3 cloves or 3 squeeze of that awesome squeezy garlic)
  • Half & Half (if you do not have half & half you can substitute 4 1/2 tbsp of melted butter and add in milk until
  • Olive Oil (1 tbsp for cooking)
  • Lemon Juice (1 tbsp)
  • White Wine (1 cup)
  • Adobo (or your fav spices)

This does not take long at all… so while you’re waiting for your water to boil for the pasta, start the shrimp in garlic and olive oil. This is going to take a hot minute or two, so while that is going, chop up those green onions and tomatoes. Also if you did not have half and half melt the butter in another pan and mix the milk in.

Don’t forget to throw your noodles in if the water is boiling!

Shrimp should be looking fab! Add in the tomatoes, green onion, and white wine. Make sure to also throw in your fav spices. Skinny Taste recommends salt and pepper but I also used a pinch of Adobo. Let this cook until the wine taste is very subtle, IF there at all. It took two minutes for mine.

You’re almost there!! Now just add in the half and half (or your made up mix) and the lemon juice! And then serve that yummy stuff over the noodles!

I also did a side asian salad. The kind you pick up from the store that is already cut.

15 minutes to get this baby on the table and enjoy!!

We are the goldensNell knows a secret about her perfect, beautiful sister Layla. If she tells, it could blow their world apart.

When Nell and Layla were little, Nell used to call them Nellaya. Because to Nell, there was no difference between where she started and her adored big sister ended. They’re a unit; divorce made them rely on each other early on, so when one pulls away, what is the other to do? But now, Nell’s a freshman in high school and Layla is changing, secretive. And then Nell discovers why. Layla is involved with one of their teachers. And even though Nell tries to support Layla, to understand that she’s happy and in love, Nell struggles with her true feelings: it’s wrong, and she must do something about it.

After the Storm of the Century rips apart New Orleans, Pageflex Persona [document: PRS0000035_00037]Adele Le Moyne and her father are among the first to return to the city following the mandatory evacuation. Adele wants nothing more than for life to return to normal, but with the silent city resembling a mold-infested war zone, a parish-wide curfew, and mysterious new faces lurking in the abandoned French Quarter, normal will have to be redefined.

Mother Nature couldn’t drain the joie de vivre from New Orleans, but the flood waters recede, and the body count continues to rise. Someone or something is draining life from its residents. Events too unnatural – even for New Orleans – lead Adele to an attic that has been sealed for three hundred years, and the chaos she unleashes threatens not only her life but everyone she knows.

Caught suddenly in a hurricane of eighteenth-century myths and monsters, Adele must quickly untangle a web of magic that links the climbing murder rate back to her own ancestors. But who can you trust in a city where everyone has a secret, and where keeping them can be a matter of life and death – unless, that is, you’re immortal.

Sleep DonationFrom the author of the New York Times bestseller Swamplandia!, and finalist for the Pulitzer Prize, an imaginative and haunting novella about an insomnia epidemic set in the near future.

A crisis has swept America. Hundreds of thousands have lost the ability to sleep. Enter the Slumber Corps, an organization that urges healthy dreamers to donate sleep to an insomniac. Under the wealthy and enigmatic Storch brothers the Corps’ reach has grown, with outposts in every major US city. Trish Edgewater, whose sister Dori was one of the first victims of the lethal insomnia, has spent the past seven years recruiting for the Corps. But Trish’s faith in the organization and in her own motives begins to falter when she is confronted by “Baby A,” the first universal sleep donor, and the mysterious “Donor Y.”

Sleep Donation explores a world facing the end of sleep as we know it, where “Night Worlds” offer black market remedies to the desperate and sleep deprived, and where even the act of making a gift is not as simple as it appears.

The Great GatsbyA portrait of the Jazz Age in all of its decadence and excess, Gatsby captured the spirit of the author’s generation and earned itself a permanent place in American mythology. Self-made, self-invented millionaire Jay Gatsby embodies some of Fitzgerald’s–and his country’s–most abiding obsessions: money, ambition, greed, and the promise of new beginnings. “Gatsby believed in the green light, the orgiastic future that year by year recedes before us. It eluded us then, but that’s no matter–tomorrow we will run faster, stretch out our arms farther…. And one fine morning–” Gatsby’s rise to glory and eventual fall from grace becomes a kind of cautionary tale about the American Dream.

It’s also a love story, of sorts, the narrative of Gatsby’s quixotic passion for Daisy Buchanan. The pair meet five years before the novel begins, when Daisy is a legendary young Louisville beauty and Gatsby an impoverished officer. They fall in love, but while Gatsby serves overseas, Daisy marries the brutal, bullying, but extremely rich Tom Buchanan. After the war, Gatsby devotes himself blindly to the pursuit of wealth by whatever means–and to the pursuit of Daisy, which amounts to the same thing. “Her voice is full of money,” Gatsby says admiringly, in one of the novel’s more famous descriptions. His millions made, Gatsby buys a mansion across Long Island Sound from Daisy’s patrician East Egg address, throws lavish parties, and waits for her to appear. When she does, events unfold with all the tragic inevitability of a Greek drama, with detached, cynical neighbor Nick Carraway acting as chorus throughout. Spare, elegantly plotted, and written in crystalline prose, The Great Gatsby is as perfectly satisfying as the best kind of poem.
