The Sharing of Life — Homemade Teriyaki Sauce!

March 23, 2014 Blog, Guilty Pleasures 2

Frame of insectsI’ve been finding a lot of great recipes and music lately. I post to facebook or pinterest but does it have to stop there? I have so much that I like to share with the world, so I thought… why not just do it!? Be like Nike! Just DO IT!

So… once a week you will find things that I’ve found or learned throughout that week but to make things easier and to make it to where you can share your findings also, there will be prompts for each week! Feel free to follow the prompts or not follow the prompts, the idea is to have fun and share about your experiences!

Teriyaki from Scratch!

I actually stumbled upon this recipe due to trying to make Pot Stickers and not having the exact ingredients. We live in a small farm town so there was no way that I was going to drive 30 minutes the store to get any either. That is just way too long for teriyaki, or anything else! I found a recipe over at the fabulous site Simply Scratch but I didn’t have all the ingredients for that either! So I had to make a couple of edits which came out lovely!

If you happen to come into the same problem do not fret! Here’s how you do it! Teriyaki sauce

  • 2 squeezes – Ginger (already ground in a squeeze bottle)
  • 2 squeezes – Garlic (same as the ginger!)
  • 2 cups – Pineapple Juice
  • Ground Pepper
  • 1/4 cup – Light Brown Sugar
  • 1 tsp – Mustard (like seriously, the kind you put on sandwiches)
  • 1/2 cup – Soy Sauce

Blend all of this together! I know the pineapple juice sounds weird but I thought what the hell, let’s try it. My hubby did give me an eyebrow raise but he tasted it and we both LOVED it. I will never buy teriyaki sauce again!

 Teriyaki yumness!

I know what you mean – I live in a small village and I recently succeeded in cooking homemade avocado makis ! If I wake up in the middle of the night with a makis craving, I can do it lol ! Taking good note of your recipe, I’ll get the missing ingredients, thanks 🙂
