May 16th: Mother’s Day related Freebie: Books to buy your mom!

I love that we all have different genres that we are attracted to. My mom loves to read the hardcore romance and my mother-in-law enjoys paranormal. My daughter, however, knows she can buy me anything with zombies and I’ll be happy. Or the new Harry Potter books with those fabulous covers.

Something Smells Like Pee – A collection of poetry about the ups and downs of being a mom. This sounds hilarious. Maybe not for my mothers but I think a few moms out there would love to take this into a hidey hole and laugh for a bit.

Marriage Matters – I saw this title and I was instantly repelled, until I read the cute synopsis. This is about questions in life for three generations!

The Dressmaker – About a survivor from the Titanic! This is a historical fiction romance. Sounds delightful and tragic, and wonderful!

The Joy Luck Club – I have yet to read this but this is one that I have heard tons about. If I remember correctly, my Mom was obsessed with this for a while a few years back.

The White Queen – Or anything from Philippa Gregory! I love the historical fiction that she writes. It draws you in and makes you want to stay. At least until the beheadings start happening.

Wild – I have been wanting to read this! Maybe I should tell my daughter. Sounds like such a fantastic story of finding yourself.

The Geek Feminist – This is fascinating! I don’t know how many moms out there are geeks, but there’s got to be a few! Here’s to us ladies!

The Loved, The Lost, The Dreaming – This looks fascinating! I know horror may be a bit out of some mom’s genre territory, but some will dive in!

Bound Together – For the lovers of paranormal romance! This is Christine Feehan’s lastest.

Fifty Shades – This may not be something on many lists but I know my mom loved the first book. I know, I know, they’re our moms but hey, they’re not dead!
