December 6, 2016 Guilty Pleasures, Top Ten Tuesday 2

Top ten TuesdayTop Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish. This feature was created because we are particularly fond of lists here at The Broke and the Bookish. We’d love to share our lists with other bookish folks and would LOVE to see your top ten lists!
Each week we will post a new Top Ten list  that one of our bloggers here at The Broke and the Bookish will answer. Everyone is welcome to join. All we ask is that you link back to The Broke and the Bookish on your own Top Ten Tuesday post AND add your name to the Linky widget so that everyone can check out other bloggers lists! If you don’t have a blog, just post your answers as a comment. Have fun with it! It’s a fun way to get to know your fellow bloggers.

the-summer-that-meltedDecember 6: Top Ten New-To-Me Authors I Read For The First Time In 2016

Sadly I did not read a lot this year but I did read a lot of authors that were new to me. My favorites are Andy Weir and John Scalzi. John Scalzi actually helped me realize that I abso freaking lutely LOVE Sci Fi. I don’t know why this hasn’t come to my attention before and I have talked about it a lot recently but it does still kind of freak me out. Great writers like John Scalzi can get us out of our comfort zone and help us realize that we love something we thought we hated. Here are some more authors that I loved this year.

I am sad to say that I have some new authors on this list that I have been meaning to read forever. Like Richard Matheson. I want to smack myself but life and the fact that there are way too many great books out there has slowed me down! That’s okay, I am conquering this world one book at a time, as I hope, you are!

  1. The Summer that Melted Everything by Tiffany McDaniel
  2. This is Where it Ends by Marieke Nijkamp
  3. Suckers by Z. Rider
  4. The Martian by Andy Weir
  5. The Dispatcher by John Scalzi
  6. Rationality Zero by Jim Guillen
  7. Love, Lies, and Spies by Cindy Anstey
  8. The Yoga of Max’s Discontent by Karen Bajaj
  9. I am Legend by Richard Matheson
  10. To Catch a Treat by Linda O. Johnston

Omg always! I like it but then again I always feel like I can never catch up. Love when I find a new author with an entire series! <3
