Holy… this was really creepy! Jeff Gunhus did a great, and I do mean GREAT, job at getting under my skin. This is the kind of book where you check your doors and windows and make sure they are locked up tight before you go to bed. And then you may even sleep with the light on. The characters were fantastic. There were so many and I didn’t trust a one of them! I swear every time a character was introduced I thought they were somehow involved in the entire thing. I have to say though, those that were innocent I was surprised, and then there were a few, one or two, that completely caught me off guard. I actually trusted them from the beginning! Although of course Buddy was my fav. Who doesn’t love a heroic dog!? <3 I honestly cannot believe that Jeff was able to pull all the strings together. There are plot lines that I didn’t even see until they were shown and then given a reason, and it all does miraculously come together. I was wondering how it was going to, but it does. Through all the chills, the heart palpitating madness, the horror, it comes together so wonderfully that I nearly had tears and this is horror! The only downside was this was on the longer side of my normal reads. There was so much in here though, so many plot lines that had to come together, that it had to be a longer book. I know many horror fans that will absolutely love every second of this though! Ever word is brilliant!
